Infants

We understand that leaving your child for the first time in Child Care can be emotional and stressful. Our goal is to make the transition from home to Child Care an easy and comfortable one for you and your child.  The first years are the most amazing and most important time in a child’s life.  All the incredible things that children discover, especially through play, are what make them successful later in life.  In the Infant Room, your child will be exposed to art experiences, sensory exploration, language, music, movement, dramatic, curiosity, cognitive and outdoor activities on a regular basis.

Toddler

Toddlers are offered a variety of experiences and learning opportunities. From observing how tadpoles and caterpillars grow, to exploring the world around them.  At Springwater Child Care Centre we offer “centre play” where children may choose which activity they would like to go to.  Children make choices about what they will do, carry out their ideas, and then reflect upon the activity. Toddlers are offered art, sensory, discovery, reading, language, manipulative, dramatic and technology as well as outdoor activities.

Preschool

Educators prepare and set up experiences for Preschoolers to be involved with people, materials, events and ideas. Children learn by doing and work with hands on, open ended activities. The Educators for this age group follow the children’s interests as much as possible.

Educators observe children as they play, paying close attention to recurring themes, the child’s understanding and misunderstanding, as well as developmental milestones and any underlying questions.

Educators and children discuss the available activities and centres that are set up in the room.  Children set goals for themselves and in-turn Educators and children discuss how they met their goals and celebrate their accomplishments.
